about dagny

“My paintings come mostly from quick sketches I’ve done of things that evoke special feelings in me.  I believe painting is a means of personal expression, so it has to be one-hundred percent original. You’re saying something.  It’s a means of communication. If someone else enjoys it, then there has been communication.”

Dagny Billingham holds a B.A. degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, with majors in Art and Philosophy.  She has also studied art at the University of Minnesota, the University of New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico University.

Traveling and living in all parts of the United States as well as England has given Billingham an opportunity to exhibit widely and belong to several cooperative galleries.  She has also taught painting classes in Alaska, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas. Her paintings are in many private collections throughout the United States. She has won numerous awards for oil and watercolors.

Dagny lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
