about kevin

Kevin Sears was born in Oklahoma City, OK. Growing up in Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico, Sears has called Santa Fe, NM his home since 1989. He received a talent scholarship to the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus, OH and attended the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

“Learning to observe and appreciate the world around me through the arts – including, stone, clay, wood, water color, and oil paint – has given me a platform and direction to express my feelings.”

Kevin’s recent focus is on interaction between the sexes. This translates into shape, relationships, and the meanings we equate with them. He has shown his work all across the country and has pieces in collections worldwide. Sears has completed several large-scale carvings for architectural commissions and taught at the Santa Fe Indian School, the Santa Fe Community College, and Stone Sculpture Symposium in Jemez Springs, NM.
